Blackbuck poaching case: Jodhpur court asks all accused to appear on January 25

New Delhi: A Jodhpur court on Friday asked all accused to appear before it on January 25 in the infamous blackbuck poaching case. The accused persons include Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu.
The actors were charged with poaching blackbucks on the midnight of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hindi movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.
Earlier this week, the court, after its hearing, reserved that it will announce its judgement in an arms act case against Salman Khan on January 18. He was accused of carrying and using illegal arms with an expired licence. A case under the Arms Act was also registered against him.
In July 2016, the Rajasthan High Court had acquitted Salman in another case related to chinkara poaching. After three months, the Rajasthan government filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the acquittal by the High Court in the cases.
