Bengaluru: A 28-year-old software engineer from Bhuwaneswar was stabbed to death in Bengaluru on Monday around 3 AM when he was on his way to meet his girlfriend. The deceased Pranay Mishra was killed near Chocolate Factory at the Tavarekere main road by two unidentified men.
The Madiwala police informed that Pranay left from a friend’s house in Begur on Sunday night and returned to his rented apartment at around 2.45 AM. A friend dropped him near his apartment after which he called his girlfriend and told her he will meet her in a few minutes.
The police said that Pranay was on his bike and when he reached near Chocolate Factory Junction, two men on bike chased and later stabbed him several times on stomach and neck. He was taken to a nearby hospital by some passersby. He was, however, declared brought dead, reported .
The reason behind his murder is not known yet. Police informed that Pranay’s mobile, wallet, bike, and other valuables were not missing from the crime scene.
The Madiwala police have registered a murder case and collected a CCTV footage from the crime scene for investigation.
