J&K: Unidentified gunmen kill former sarpanch in Pulwama’s Kakapora

A former sarpanch was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Pulwama on Monday morning, police said.
Fayaz Ahmed, a resident of Kakapora of Pulwama district, was picked up by militants from his home on Monday morning and was later killed in Chewa Kalan village.
The sarpanch was formally associated with the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
An investigation has been ordered into the matter. So far, no militant group has claimed the responsibility for the killing.
Militants have targeted the sarpanchs in the past as well.
