Kannada Actress BV Radha Passes Away At 70, Donates Eyes And Body



Veteran actress and producer BV Radha, 70, passed away in Bengaluru suffering from cardiac arrest. The actress was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru and was under medical supervision. However, she could not survive the attack. BV Radha is a cancer survivor who was seen in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Tulu and Malayalam films. Her body was kept at her residence for the last rituals to be performed. BV Radha also donated her eyes to Narayana Nethralaya and her body to MS Ramaiah Hospital.
BV Radha was married to director KSL Swami who passed away in 2015. She started her acting career through a Kannada movie named Navakoti Narayana in 1964. Her work with other popular actors like MG Ramachandran, Gemini Ganesan, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, NT Rama Rao are well known.
BV Radha also was an acclaimed theatre artist. She was bestowed with State-level Kanaka Ratna award by the Kanaka Gurupeetha. Talking about films, she has acted in more than 300 of them, 250 being in Kannada language and rest in other languages. Her fans are pouring condolence messages for her and also appreciating her step to donate her body and eyes to the hospital. The actress will surely be remembered by the South film industry for years to come.
