Shillong: Three people have been killed including driver of a diesel tanker on Mawpun- Umroi Shillong Bypass in Meghalaya. The blast is reported to have happened as a result of Diesel leakage from the vehicle. The tanker was traveling from Guwahati to Manipur.
In February, at least 17 people were killed when a truck rammed into the concrete barricade of a road in Meghalaya’s West Khasi Hills district. More than 60 people were critically injured in the accident in Jdohkroh village which is about 11 km from Nongstoin. Sylvester Nongtnger, the police chief of West Khasi Hills said all the victims were proceedings towards Nonglang village to attend the synod of Presbyterian Church.
