A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against liquor baron Vijay Mallya after CBI moved an extradition plea.
In reaction to this, Vijay Mallya tweeted that he was shocked by the CBI allegations and that all of them were false and misconceived. “What would a bunch of elite politicians know about business and economics,” Mallya questioned in his tweet.
Am shocked at CBI allegations. All false and misconceived to say the least What do a bunch of elite Police know about business and Economics?
Vijay Mallya also said, “Media is being used as a pitch against him and two fiercely competitive teams NDA and UPA are playing and he is the football, but there are no referees.”
Mallya also wrote on twitter, “CBI made such a great drama accusing the Maran’s and putting them to great harm. What finally happened. Did truth prevail or CBI prevail ?”
In the warrant issued by the special CBI court, it specifically mentions Mallya’s location as UK which it is understood will play a major role in further carrying out investigation in the case.
Earlier on January 24, the CBI filed a chargesheet against eleven people including Vijay Mallya and his now grounded Kingfisher Airlines in a special CBI court in Mumbai.
Meanwhile on January 25, India’s market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) barred beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya and six officials of United Spirits Ltd (USL) from trading in the securities market with immediate effect.
